DESCRIPTION:\nJoin the&nbsp\;University Sunrise Rotary Club&nbsp\;for a pro
 gram featuring Jon Scholes\, President &amp\; CEO of the Downtown Seattle 
 Association.\n\n\n\nThe&nbsp\;program will be presented on Zoom on Thursda
 y morning with the Zoom line opening at 7 a.m.&nbsp\; The formal meeting i
 ncluding the program runs from 7:30-8:30 a.m.&nbsp\;&nbsp\;No registration
  is required\, and the program is free.\n\n\n\nThe meeting will be availab

  line will open shortly after 7 a.m.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJon Scholes is
  president &amp\; CEO of the Downtown Seattle Association where he is resp
 onsible for the operations and programs of the DSA\, an 1\,100-member asso
 ciation formed in 1958 to create a healthy\, vibrant downtown for all. In 
 this capacity\, Jon is also responsible for the management of the Metropol
 itan Improvement District (MID)\, which was established by property owners
  and the City of Seattle in 1999 to provide cleaning\, safety\, transporta
 tion\, marketing and public-realm management services across 300 square bl
 ocks in downtown.\n\n\n\nHe was appointed president and CEO of DSA in Nove
 mber of 2014 following six years as DSA’s vice president of advocacy and
  economic development. He has led the growth and expansion of the organiza
 tion’s services\, advocacy agenda and response to the impacts of the pan
 demic on downtown Seattle. Today\, DSA is one of the three largest downtow
 n organizations in North America as measured by total annual revenue and s
 taff. Jon has spent more than 20 years working in nonprofit advocacy\, pub
 lic affairs\, local government\, and in senior positions on political camp
 aigns at the regional and state levels.\n\n\n\nJon serves on the boards of
  Visit Seattle\, the International Downtown Association\, and Downtown Eme
 rgency Services Center and has served on a number of city and county task 
 forces focused on transportation\, homelessness and housing. He was recogn
 ized in 2016 as a “40 Under 40” honoree by the Puget Sound Business Jo
 urnal and named one of Seattle’s most influential people by Seattle Maga
 zine in 2021. He is the host of Seattle City Makers\, a podcast launched i
 n 2022 featuring conversations with a cross section of leaders shaping the
  city.\n\n\n\nJon is a graduate of Leadership Tomorrow and attended the Un
 iversity of Texas in Austin before graduating from the University of Washi
 ngton. He lives in downtown Seattle with his wife and their 14-year-old tw
 ins.\n
