She earned her doctorate in Romance L anguages and Linguistics from the University of California\, Berkeley. Her scholarship broadly focuses on the intersection of racial and linguistic identity formations among marginalized groups in the African diaspora\, pa rticularly in the postcolonial Francophone world.
