Ann Davison is the first female City Attorney and first mother to hold the highest legal office in Seattle city government. Over the past three decades, Ann has been a constant champion for those without voice or power.

She received her B.A. in sociology from Baylor University and her J.D. from Willamette University College of Law. Her career in public service began more than 30 years ago and includes work in a refugee camp, a caseworker in the U.S. House of Representatives, a teacher, and a lawyer.

A Texas native, Ann made Seattle her home in 1996 when she accepted a position in the front office of the Seattle SuperSonics. She subsequently entered private practice, focusing on arbitration, immigration, sports, contracts, business transactions, employment, and intellectual property.

Since being elected Seattle City Attorney in November 2021, Ann has implemented a series of efficient and innovative policies with a priority focus on public safety, victims of crime, and unprecedented data transparency—a cutting-edge aspect of prosecutor offices around the country. Ann is also committed to ensuring that the Seattle City Attorney’s Office is among the premier municipal law offices in the U.S.
