Virginia Burton is the Founder of the O-UT program–Overhaul-Unrelenting Transfiguration (O-UT). The program has organically grown under Virginia’s driven leadership in the reentry and social service field. Virginia has had personal and professional experience with criminal behavior, addiction, incarceration, homelessness, services, and overcoming tragedy. She is now a University of Washington graduate and Washington State Truman Scholar.
Virginia has developed a framework to equip people like herself to overcome their challenges and live the life of their choosing by gaining tools to find and maintain independence. She has more than ten years of experience serving adults in the reentry, behavioral health, housing first, and homeless sectors of society. She has more than 30 years of experience with addiction and recovery. She serves as a consultant in areas of government, currently working with the State of Tennessee Department of Human Services. Virginia is the CEO of VB Media. She directs and hosts a documentary series called Modern America; showcasing the real stories on the other side of policy in the U.S.
