The program will be presented on Zoom on Thursday morning with the Zoom line opening at 7 a.m. The formal meeting including the program runs from 7:30-8:30 a.m. No registration is required, and the program is free.

Ruth A. Wilson, M.A. is a Board Certified Educational Therapist with over 25 years of experience working with high school students and serving in school administration. She is also a certified principal for Washington State, and has helped thousands of students experience academic success, earn diplomas, improve grade point averages, enter the workforce, and aspire towards greater personal goals over her career.
In 1999, Ruth founded Brightmont Academy, a fully-accredited private school for students in grades 6-12. Brightmont uses a one-to-one instruction approach, allowing teachers to customize all aspects of the educational program. Ruth’s innovative school model was eagerly embraced by families and communities, enabling her to scale and replicate these schools. Brightmont Academy had grown from the original Seattle campus to 11 campuses located in Arizona, Michigan, Minnesota, and Washington State by the time Ruth stepped down from an active operational role in 2018 in order to found Huma Education Services, LLC.
Huma Education Services works with college students, especially during their first year of attendance, to help them experience success. Multiple resources exist to help students gain admission to college or university, but many flounder and stop attending before earning their degree. Huma Education Services fills that gap by building a support network for students, helping them to connect with the resources available on campus, and assisting with any problems that might interfere with attendance and degree completion.
Ruth has been featured in numerous publications, trains parents and staff, speaks publicly, and is often quoted as an expert on issues of learning disabilities, gifted education, and mental health issues that impact teenagers. She has served on several boards, including the Washington Branch of the International Dyslexia Association and Robert Chinn Foundation, and is actively involved in committees that promote diversity and awareness at the Women’s University Club. Ruth is currently the chair of the Teen Advisory Committee for Bellevue College.

The Club was founded in 1914 by strong, enterprising women who wanted a place where smart, motivated and dedicated women could come together in mutual support, united by a love of learning and a desire to make Seattle a better place for everyone.
